Winning student entries from the 2010 Yom Hashoah Statewide Art,
Writing and Video Contest will be on display at The Sixth Floor Museum
at Dealey Plaza for a month, beginning April 13th. The Sixth Floor
Museum is located at 411 Elm Street, Dallas.
Middle and High School students across Texas were invited to submit
entries for the contest, which recognized the role of “Upstanders in the
Holocaust” - those who stood up against the evil perpetrated against
the Jewish people and others targeted by the Nazi regime.
Contest winners were recognized at the annual Yom Hashoah Holocaust
Remembrance Day ceremony on April 11 at Congregation Shearith Israel in
Dallas. Prizes were awarded in five divisions, with $100, $75 and $50
going to first-, second- and third-place winners, respectively.
